Amazon S3 launches new cloud encryption and security features

{title}

Every day while we surf the web we are exposed to security attacks that can affect our experience and even make it difficult for us to preserve the privacy of our data. Amazon is one of the Internet portals that receives more visits from users willing to leave their bank details to make their purchases online. The company opened the doors of the first office in Spain in September 2011, which secured in our country an e-commerce consolidation, increasing its sales by more than 25%.

Amazon S3: Amazon's cloud storage service

Amazon created its cloud storage service, Amazon S3, thinking of developers, since it would make their work much easier when it comes to obtaining scalable web-based computing resources. From its interface it is possible to store and recover at any time and from any part of the Web the amount of data we want.

It might be easy for hackers to exploit Amazon S3 compartments to carry out attacks silently. Thinking about this, the Amazon Web Services team has launched five new features to achieve greater encryption and security in its cloud storage service, thus ensuring greater security during use.

New Encryption and Security features of Amazon S3

  • Object Encryption
  • Service check
  • Overwriting replication access control list between regions
  • Cross-region replication with AWS Key Management Service
  • Encrypted Inventory Report

Object Encryption

This encryption option can be enabled through the S3 console when users create a new repository. Through this option we can order all objects to be stored in an encrypted way and so it will be easy for our information to be secure and protect us from attacks.

Service check

This option will allow us to be visible as users to see how the change in their deposit and checklist policy affects the moment they are made.

Replication between regions Overwriting ACL

This new functionality allows us to easily transfer ownership of copies of objects to the owners of the destination warehouses easily and simply. We can also configure the key policy for the destination deposit from the same destination account

Cross-region replication with AWS Key Management Service

This option makes replication between different regions easier and therefore more efficient.

Encrypted Inventory Report
They can be done by the user on a weekly or monthly basis and through them you will get a report that will detail the encryption of each object and can also encrypt themselves for greater security.

It is clear that IT security is increasingly an issue that worries more among users and Amazon knows it, so this implementation of security measures in its cloud storage service will undoubtedly be well received among users.
