One of the most commonly used platforms at the personal or corporate level for the entire messaging and videoconferencing issue is Skype, which is developed by Microsoft and offers us a series of advantages both at the configuration level and in advanced use to lead to a higher level the whole subject of communications.
In the latest Skype updates we have noticed how this is automatically integrated into Outlook on the web and that is why when we access our email accounts Skype is automatically activated in any of its available states. This is found in the upper right corner:
For some this can be annoying since not accessing the Skype application others will see that we are connected by just accessing email and can write without problems and all messages will appear in Outlook.
That is why today we will see how to disable Skype login automatically next to Outlook web in a simple and functional way.
1. How to disable Skype by editing the Hosts file
Remember that the Hosts file in all operating systems is a small file through which the operating system assigns the names of the host or host in IP addresses.
In this file we can carry out various tasks such as redirecting local networks, enabling access to restricted websites or blocking access to other websites.
This file is in the following path and for editing we must edit the file with administrative permissions.
C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc
Step 1
For this we open the notebook by right clicking on it and selecting the option Run as administrator.
Once the notebook is open we go to the File menu and there we select the Open option:

In the displayed window we go to the indicated path and select the Hosts file:

Click on Open and in the final part of the file we will add the following line:
swx.cdn.skype.com
We save the changes to the Hosts file using the Ctrl + G keys or by going to the File / Save menu. Once these changes have been made it will be necessary to restart the browser to apply the changes.
2. How to disable Skype using the Ublock Origin extension
In this case we will use Google Chrome and this extension allows the blocking of unwanted ads and applications in the browser allowing us to better manage privacy when browsing. In the same way Ublock allows us to block domains to prevent access to them.
In addition, Ublock consumes few machine resources which does not affect its stability.
Step 1

Now we will access Outlook and click on the Ublock Origin extension again and there we can see all the applications open with Outlook on the web:

Click on Skype and see that it is marked with red indicating its blocking. We will see a lock icon at the top, we will click on it for the changes to be applied.
3. How to disable Skype using Avast
Step 1
One of the most used browsers today gives us the option to block Skype at the start of Outlook. If we do not have Avast we can download it in the following link:

We access Avast and we will see the following window where we will click on the Options line located at the bottom:

In the displayed window we will select the Components line and click on Customize from the Web shield field:

In the displayed window we go to the URL Block line, we activate the Activate site block box and in the URLs to block field we will enter the following
