Nowadays e-mail is a fundamental weapon for the communication of many companies, since through this medium you can exchange information between the different parties directly and quickly. It is a widely used service and thanks to its integration in mobile phones, its usability is increasing.
When we work with emails, we may have had to send attachments many times. The problem with this is that perhaps the attachments we want to send are too heavy and Gmail does not allow us to attach them. Sending heavy files by email is a feature that many users want and that when not finding such a feature in Gmail, the use of third-party services is attached by attaching a link within the email to share that file.
To avoid having to resort to this, Gmail has thought about the comfort of its users and has included the possibility of sending files larger than 30 MB through the integration of Drive. It is a function that Gmail incorporates by default and that we will explain below with all the necessary steps to use it.
Step 1
First we must go to our Drive account, we look for the New button on the left side and locate the Upload files option, click and upload the file we want to send by Gmail.
Step 2
Once the upload of the file is complete, we go to our Gmail account and write a new message. While there we look in the lower menu on the right side of the Send options to attach button. We locate the Drive icon and select it.
Step 3
When selected, a Drive file explorer will appear. Once we locate the selected file we attach it, press
Step 4
Finally, with our file inserted in the mail, we write our message, we add our subject, we send the mail.
In this way we can send files that exceed the limit that we have by default in Gmail, giving us the freedom to use only Google applications and not having to resort to third-party services for uploading heavy files and then insert the link in our emails, something that we are in a work environment can look pretty bad. It is also something that will not take us too much time and that we will probably get quite useful. Remember that we also have the ability to save Gmail emails in Drive.
