File Explorer is a new component in Windows 8 in both desktop and tablet versions, as it replaces the classic Windows explorer that was managed up to Windows 7 .
This component allows us to search and manipulate both folders and files easily on our tablet, either in its RT version or in its normal version, so it is very important to know how we can handle it in the best way in a touch interface with our fingers
How to get to the file explorer?
To be able to access this useful application, the first thing to do is go to the classic desktop view by pressing the corresponding tile on the Windows 8 home screen for tablets.
Then we will see the desktop and we will look for the File Explorer icon in the taskbar at the bottom of our screen, this icon looks like this:
Once we have tapped on this icon the application will be displayed, then we will see its work screen, where we can access our entire file system as we can see in the following image:
If we tap on the browser icon at the bottom of the screen, we can see the desktop again and if we press it again we will return to the file browser.
Locations
On the left side we can see all the locations to which we have access once the File Explorer analyzes our system, we see that in addition to seeing our local disks, we can also manipulate our Skydrive unit and the different nodes that we can see in our local network.
If we see the scroll bar, it allows us to go down and up through the elements that may be hidden when there is a large number of them and the screen is not enough, if we want to move it just simply slide our finger through it.
Select multiple folders or files at once
Once we are inside a disk drive, the most certain thing is that we can see one or more folders and the same with the files, if we want to do operations with several of these at the same time with our fingers this can become somewhat complex, To avoid this we must follow the following steps:
1 - Once we are in the desired folder or disk drive we will tap on the top menu in the option see details .
2 - Then we will see that we have a checkbox next to our files and folders, if we tap on one we will see how it is selected.
3 - The part that needs practice is where we want to select several of these, we will use our little finger to hold the first element, then with our other fingers we mark all the necessary boxes, as we see in the following image.
4 - With this we can copy or delete the selection made.
With this we finish this tutorial, as we saw our fingers allow us to perform a bit complex operations that we did not imagine would be possible without a keyboard and a mouse.
