A hybrid is the conjunction of the portability of a Tablet with the functionality of a computer as it mounts an Operating System created for a PC. The new models come very well equipped and we have all the potential of a computer in a few centimeters.
Lenovo has experience in this of hybrids and in creating very defined lines of computers such as the ThinkPad Yoga range and its rotating screens. This year he wanted to introduce another range that we already saw with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon looking for a possible opportunity in ultrabooks.

Design
The design is one of the novelties of this ThinkPad X1 Tablet because it flees from the typical constitution of hybrid Tablet. It is a sober design very oriented to the professional field for its finishes and elegant lines. It has a hinge-like termination where the different ports are placed in addition to the connection with the different modules . And yes, this computer wants to change your concept of hybrid as some phones like the LG G5 or Motorola Moto Z have been doing. The homogeneous color of the body in a total black with small touches of red makes it not excessively striking in the Business field.
This hybrid combines the best of a laptop and a Tablet by adding something else, a modularity that will pleasantly improve your experience as a user or as a worker . Its size is 291 x 209.5 x 8.45mm with a weight of about 795 g.
Its most basic complement will be the keyboard of only 5.2 mm thick and a size of 290 x 228mm. One of its potentialities is the possibility of modifying its angulation so that we can type in it regardless of our position . Being a keyboard-case we can find it in several colors to customize it.
For the security part it includes a fingerprint reader with touch sensor and independent secure platform module (dTPM) for the encryption issue. In addition we can find features such as management capacity (vPro) or Intel Active Management Technology (AMT).

The screen of this ThinkPad X1 Tablet is wrapped within 12 ”in an IPS type display with Full HD + 2K resolution (2160 x 1440) and a 3: 2 ratio format. It is a screen that looks pretty good with attractive and vivid colors and good viewing angles . Perhaps we would have liked the screen to be even more profitable by reducing the surrounding frames.
performance
To bring this ThinkPad X1 Tablet to life, Lenovo has decided to incorporate processors that reach Intel Core i7 vPro. In its possibilities we can find: Intel Core M5-6Y54 MB or Intel Core M7-6Y75 MB. As for the RAM we will also have two possible models, one of 8 GB LPDDR3 SDRAM 1866 MHz and another of 16 GB LPDDR3 SDRAM 1866 MHz. On the graphics issue, all possible models mount an Intel HD Graphics 515.
While this computer seemed to be considered as a strong rival against Microsoft's Surface Pro, it must be recognized that Lenovo this time is located below . In the end it is sought to have a powerful computer and as we will see below the price is not compensating with the processing it incorporates.
The modularity made computer
As we mentioned, one of the suggestions of this ThinkPad X1 Tablet is its modular nature. It includes different accessories that will expand the possibilities of your device:

- Expansion module: with this accessory you can have faster and easier connections . It is an 802.11ad wireless expansion that is done through a 60 GHz band. It has the possibility of connecting two screens and peripherals such as mouse, keyboard or webcam at high connection speeds thanks to USB 3.0.
- 3D imaging module : module that includes dual Intel Real Sense camera for 3D object scanning .
Storage
As for main memory we will have a solid hard disk capacity of up to 1 TB. We can choose between 128 GB, 192 GB, 256 GB 512 GB SSD in the versions available in Spain.
Operating system
This ThinkPad X1 Tablet has two software versions available: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit or Windows 10 Home. A successful choice is the professional version since it is a hybrid with a lot of business orientation.

conclusion
As we see the idea of Lenovo is quite successful in terms of promoting a computer that has so many useful features in the business world . The problem is that at the moment there are no known prices for these extra modules that will undoubtedly be an investment to add. With some processors that cannot fight with the most cutting-edge of the market and a fairly normal screen, the price of this ThinkPad X1 Tablet leaves it in a segment that cannot be reached by anyone becoming a less competitive computer in quality-price.
